MY BELIEFS: God’s Word is inspired (2 Timothy 3:16-17) and has absolute authority over my life. It is my desire to live for my Heavenly Father’s pleasure and to glorify Him in all I do.
I believe God created us — man and woman — in His image on the earth. Our first parents, Adam and Eve, were created to live in the magnificent Garden of Eden, a real physical place in the fertile crescent of the middle-east. When sin entered the world it changed everything. Sin is the single reason for the problems we see in our world. Shame, guilt, and blame began in Genesis 3 when sin entered, and we have lived with its destruction upon humanity since. Because of God’s love and provision, He provided a way for us to live above our natural bent toward sin by providing an answer (2Peter 1:3-4) and access to God, our Father-Yahweh-Jehovah.
During the Old Covenant, God provided a blood sacrifice through a spotless lamb. Under the New Covenant, He gave His only begotten Son to be our sacrifice. Through Jesus Christ and His blood sacrifice on the Cross, God has given us atonement for sin and by the Holy Spirit’s power at work in us, the ability to live a godly life in relationship with Him. Obedience to God’s Word produces a joyful life not dependent on our circumstances but rather upon our Heavenly Father’s faithfulness to us, His children.
We become His children, not by our natural birth to our parents, or birth into a religious home but through the new birth into His Kingdom as explained by Jesus in John 3. God’s redemptive plan allows us to rejoin His original purpose for us. Redemption provides a way for us to no longer remain under the curse of sin, but by joining our lives with Christ we become overcomers in this world (1John 5:4) . A victorious life can be ours by surrendering our life for His. When this exchange takes place we now gain the ability to live fully surrendered to God’s will and purpose by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit (Romans 8:9-14).
I am thankful that God also gives us a family, called the Church, to bear each other’s burdens and care for one another (Gal. 6:2). You may not have a family that understands or is able to help you, but God can knit you together in His family with people who care. Seek out this kind of family within a local church to fellowship with. Through pain or joy, God is continually at work to accomplish His will in your life.
Jesus is my Savior, intimate friend, elder brother, and soon returning King. The Holy Spirit along with God’s Word, guides, leads and protects us throughout life. He gives comfort, wisdom, peace, love and abounding joy. God is Awesome! My life is surrendered to the One who will never leave nor forsake me and He is fully trustworthy to complete what He has begun in me. And that, my friend, is truly amazing! ~ Nancy
