The Council on Biblical Manhood & Womanhood, CBMW, is a great resource for wading through the confusion of the roles of men and women in our day; both within and outside of the Church.
There are two statements that help explain biblically the differing roles of men vs. women– the original known as the Danvers Statement published in 1987 and the updated statement called the Nashville Statement published in 2017.
I hold to the complementarian view of women in ministry (women holding limited offices and teaching positions within the church) which is clearly explained in these statements. ~ Nancy
Hi Gail, the link to this view, which is called Complementarian (the woman complements the man’s leadership) is in the article. You can find articles on Egalitarianism (equal roles without regard to gender), the other view, online; christianity.com has one. I hold to the first because I believe the scriptures support it. I know we have a broken-down church and society that makes it seems hard to hold to this view but I want to stick with what God originally designed, that’s why I hold to Complimentarism. ~ Nancy

So…where is the link to the statements… so we can review both views?
